Matthew van Gennip is a research engineer at GCAPS, where he supports automated driving technology research and development. Before joining GCAPS, Matthew spent 8 years in a variety of positions ranging from manufacturing engineer, vehicle dynamics product management, and vehicle dynamics technical specialist. He has authored two research publications on advanced tire tread testing. During Matthew’s tenure at A&D Technology, he worked on cutting-edge high-speed tire contact patch research and analysis. Matthew is actively involved in the Tire Society committee, chairing the 2024 annual conference. He is also involved in the ISO 18511 committee which sets standards for tire abrasion and emissions. Matthew has a B.Sc. and M.A.Sc. in Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo. Matthew enjoys woodworking in his spare time.
